What kind of festival is it?

Yeongdo Bridge (today's Yeongdodaegyo) opened in 1934 as a drawbridge that lifts one side to let ships through. During the Korean War, refugees promised each other “if we get separated, let's meet at Yeongdo Bridge.” The festival celebrates the bridge and the people of Yeongdo. This year it mixes nostalgia (a retro alley, silent films, a play), the sea (fireworks and fire-boats joining the bridge parade) and family activities in Amir Park. It's run as a disposable-free festival, lending reusable cups and plates.
Program by day
- Fri Oct 30 — Mulyangjang: from 6 p.m. performances and opening ceremony → celebration concert (singer Jeong Mi-ae) → sea fireworks
- Sat Oct 31 — Yeongdo Bridge: 2 p.m. “Crossing Yeongdo Bridge” parade (taekwondo, cheerleading, giant flags; fire-boats and coast guard boats on the water). Mulyangjang: a retro play and a retro EDM show. Amir Park: celebrity chef cooking show, rice ball and fish cake tasting (first 100 people).
- Sun Nov 1 — Mulyangjang: silent film theater, K-pop dance gala. Amir Park: Hidden Singer special concert, song contest final, retro concert by singer Jadu, closing ceremony.
- All three days: retro alley, food and beer zones, flea market (Mulyangjang); kids' festival, wooden playground, sea library (Amir Park).
Exact times for some day 2–3 events and the fireworks start time had not been announced as of October 19. Check the official website before you go.

- 2. Amir Park — Family activities, song contest · next to the National Maritime Museum · Google Maps · Kakao Map
- 3. Yeongdo Bridge — Parade Oct 31, 2 p.m. · fireworks views · Google Maps · Kakao Map
- Nampo Station (Line 1) — Walk across Yeongdo Bridge, 10–15 min to Mulyangjang · Google Maps · Kakao Map

- Bongnae-dong Mulyangjang (stage, fireworks, food): take Metro Line 1 to Nampo Station and walk across Yeongdo Bridge — the waterfront on the east side is the venue, about 10–15 minutes. It's right next to Nampo-dong and Jagalchi Market.
- Amir Park (family activities, song contest): a seaside lawn in Dongsam-dong, right next to the National Maritime Museum. No parking of its own — take a city bus to the “National Maritime Museum” stop (use Naver or Kakao Map).
- Between the two: about 4–5 km apart; allow 20–30 minutes by bus or taxi. Amir Park by day and Mulyangjang in the evening works well.
Roads around Mulyangjang are narrow with little parking, and traffic on Yeongdo Bridge may be restricted during the parade.
Where to watch the fireworks
The opening-night fireworks are launched over the sea in front of Mulyangjang. The waterfront in front of the stage is closest; if it's crowded, you can also look out to sea from the Nampo side of Yeongdo Bridge and the waterfront near Lotte Department Store Gwangbok. It's much smaller than the Busan Fireworks Festival (Nov 7) but far less crowded — good with kids.
Food and sights nearby
Cross one bridge and you're in Nampo-dong, Jagalchi Market and Gukje Market — buy seed hotteok and fish cakes, or have grilled eel or pork soup for dinner. On Yeongdo itself, visit the cliffside Huinnyeoul Culture Village, the art-filled shipyard alleys of Kkangkkangi Art Village, and Taejongdae. The same weekend, the Busan Mackerel Festival is held at nearby Songdo Beach (15–20 minutes by car via Namhang Bridge).
